No Buena Vista softball pitcher confounded opponents the
way Missy (Neblung) Kilbey did. She held the batters she
faced to a .177 batting average, the lowest in school history,
while winning 49 games as a three-time all-conference hurler.
Kilbey, who was also a four-time letter winner on the
volleyball team, pitched nearly every inning her senior
season while leading the club to a third place finish at the
NCAA National Tournament. She set an NCAA single-game
record by striking out 12 batters in a tournament game.
Kilbey continued to coach softball after graduation and is
currently the athletics director at St. Andrews Priory in
Honolulu, Hawaii. She lives with her husband Rich (SL ‘88)
and sons Reese and Cade in Mililani.
