Jim Higley SL'88 was a four-year letterwinner as a member of the Beaver football team from 1984-87 and served as a team captain as both a junior and senior.  He was a starter at strong safety all four years, and also held down various kick return duties.  He was a four-time  All-Conference selection, including a unanimous first team defensive back selection as a junior and senior, and also earned All-American accolades as a senior.  Higley currently serves as the national director of business development for the Interstates Companies of Sioux Center, Iowa.  He and his wife, Courtney, have three children: Matthew, Brittney, and MacKinsey.
