Dan was a three-time NCAA qualifier and two-time All-American for the Beaver wrestling team under former coach Al Baxter from 1982-86, while winning 118 career matches (fifth all-time).  In addition, he was also a three-time Iowa Conference Tournament finalist.  As a senior, he tallied 42 wins, marking the second-best total in school history at that time.  He went on and became the program's first-ever NCAA finalist en route to a national runner-up finish.  In addition, the Beavers also placed third as a team that season - their highest-ever national finish.  He also helped BVU win the Iowa Conference Team Championship as both a freshman and senior (1983 and 1986), while the team took second during his sophomore and junior seasons.  Aside from his coaching, Dan has worked as a account executive at both Sun Gard and Cisco Systems in Ankeny over the last 10 years.  he's also a volunteer wrestling coach at Urbandale high school.  Dan lives in Ankeny and has twins, Reece and Riley.
