Evron Karges '24 was captain on the Buena Vista football team in 1922 and was named to the all-conference team.
A center, Karges weighed 230 pounds and was known as "Beef." He was on the student council, and was active in plays and student organizations. Following graduation from Buena Vista, he was a coach for the Newell school district and worked for the YMCA in Mason City and in California.
