Pietrzyk connected for 12 home runs during his first season on campus, which still ranks third in single-season history. He still holds the program’s single-season mark with 60 runs batted in (RBI) as a senior in 2010 and his 71 hits as a junior in 2009 stood as a school record until recently being surpassed in 2019. Pietrzyk was a three-time First Team All-Iowa Conference selection, a two-time All-West Region selection and was a Second Team All-American by D3baseball.com as a junior in 2009. As a senior, he helped guide the program to its first regular season championships in nearly 30 years while also capturing its first-ever IIAC Tournament title.

Following graduation from BVU, Pietryzk moved back to his home state of Oregon for one year before relocating to Sioux Falls, S.D., and worked as a personal trainer. He later took a position on staff with the Oregon Ducks strength and conditioning program and is currently serving as a member of the Boise State’s football operations.
