Mount Marty was on the offensive attack the majority of the match, holding BVU to only one shot that came in the first half from Hailey Chambers. The Lancers, meanwhile, finished with 39 shots, including 16 on-goal. Alexia Valdez chalked up a team-high nine of those shots, including the final two goals. Rhyl Grim followed with seven shots and two assists.
Sophomore goalkeeper Maia Jaroch got the start for BVU and was charged with allowing two goals and recording seven saves while playing only the first half. Freshman Macy Palmer took over to start the second half and surrendered the final two goals while posting six saves.
Buena Vista is now 2-2-1 on the year and goes back on the road this Saturday, Sept. 13, for the first time since the season opener. The Beavers will play at Monmouth College at 3:30 p.m.
