STORM LAKE, Iowa (Oct. 13, 2025) - The American Rivers Conference announced its weekly Performers of the Week on Monday afternoon for the period ending on Sunday, Oct. 11, and Buena Vista was represented on the list by sophomore goalkeeper Maia Jaroch as the A-R-C Women's Soccer Defensive Performer of the Week.
Jaroch is also earning the weekly honors for the first time in her young playing career. She's also the program's first A-R-C Defensive Performer of the Week in over a decade since Rachel Novotny on Sept. 7, 2014.
In a pair of A-R-C matches last week, the sophomore generated 28 saves and allowed only two goals. During the team's 3-1 victory on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at home versus Coe College, she turned in 10 saves despite facing 21 total shots. She was a pivotal piece in the team picking up back-to-back wins over the Kohawks for the first time in its history. On Saturday, she came up with save after save, totaling 18 overall, which is the fifth-highest single-game total in BVU history and surpassing her previous high of 17 set early in the season. She was a mere 90 seconds away from earning her third shutout of the year, but the Norse squeaked in a direct goal off of a free-kick with 1:31 remaining.
