LINCOLN, Neb. (Oct. 22, 2025) - The Buena Vista women's soccer team was on the road Wednesday night for an American Rivers Conference match at Nebraska Wesleyan, but it was a fast start by the Prairie Wolves that lifted them to a 4-0 victory.
NWU jumped out to a 2-0 lead within the first 10 minutes of action with a pair of goals only a minute a part. The lead grew to 3-0 midway through the opening half before they added the final score inside the final five minutes of the half.
The two defenses held strong over the final 45 minutes with only seven total shots-on-goal in the half. The Prairie Wolves (3-6-5, 1 -3-2 a-R-C) finished the night with 31 total shots while BVU had five. Averie Hike had a match-high seven shots, including three on-goal, and a pair of assists, to help lead NWU.Â
Sophomore
Maia Jaroch went the distance in-goal for the Beavers and tallied nine saves. Freshman
Macy Palmer recorded a pair of shots-on-goal to lead BVU on the offensive end with
Hailey Chambers adding a pair of shots that were off target.
Buena Vista, now 4-10-2 overall (1-5 A-R-C), travels to Central College on Saturday, Oct. 25, for its final road contest of the year. Kickoff in Pella is set for Noon.
