STORM LAKE, Iowa (Oct. 15, 2025) - The Buena Vista men's wrestling team was picked ninth according to the 2025-26 American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Preseason Coaches Poll which was announced this afternoon by the conference office.
The Beavers are coming off a 2024-25 campaign in which it posted an overall record of 1-13 and 0-8 in conference action. Under fifth-year head coach
Sean White, BVU will return a handful of starters from last season's line-up to mix with a large and exciting group of newcomers.
"We have a great group of young men who keep building and are ready to have a great season!" says White.
BVU will be among those chasing defending DIII champion Wartburg College, who is picked to defend its A-R-C title in 2025-26. The Knights received the maximum eight possible first-place votes (coaches cannot vote for their own team) and totaled 64 points. Coe College landed the final first-place vote and came in second with 55 total points. Loras College was right behind in a close third with 52.

The regular season competition schedule begins for Buena Vista on Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Luther Hill Invitational hosted by Simpson College. The first dual of the year comes on the road with a non-conference batte at Briar Cliff University on Friday, Nov. 7.Â
BVU begins the American Rivers Conference schedule on Thursday, Nov. 20, at Loras College at 7 p.m. The only other A-R-C dual of the calendar year is on the road at Coe College on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, Dec. 6, is the team's home opener when it hosts the annual BVU Open inside of the Lamberti Recreation Center at 9 a.m.. The first home dual of the year is on Wednesday, Jan. 15, against Neb. Wesleyan University at 7 p.m. This year's A-R-C Duals takes place on Saturday, Jan. 24, with BVU taking part in the pod hosted by the University of Dubuque and consiting of Wartburg, Central and Dubuque.
