STORM LAKE, Iowa (Dec. 7, 2024) - The Buena Vista University men's wrestling team hosted its annual BVU Open on Saturday inside of the Lamberti Recreation Center, and senior Hayden Stout gave the team its lone placewinner on the day as he came in eighth.

A total of 16 different schools were represented in the tournament from DI, DII, DIII and JUCO.

Stout had an opening round bye and then picked up a thrilling 2-1 decision in round two before falling in his next three bouts, including a 10-5 decision in his placement match.

Tyler Japp, Jesus Olivares, Kam Evans and Colton O'Hern each won a match on the day for BVU as eight different wrestlers took part for the Beavers.

Buena Vista is now off for the remainder of the calendar year and returns to the mat on Friday, Jan. 10, at the Virginia Duals at Hampton, Va.
