MANLY, Iowa (Feb. 12, 2026) - The Buena Vista men's wrestling team concluded its regular season on Thursday night against No. 13 Luther College, and the Norse would hand the Beavers a tough 44-6 loss in a dual that was held at Central Springs High School.

The dual began at 184 pounds, and senior Trevor Kruse got the Beavers on the board first by holding on for a thrilling 3-2 decision. He scored his only points with a first period takedown before an escape made it 3-1. That's how things stood all the way to the end when he surrendered a penalty point following his second stall call. The win improved his season record to a team-best 13-6 and was his 20th win at BVU.

Luther got back-to-back bonus point wins at 197 and 285 to grab a 10-3 lead before senior Tyler Japp pulled BVU back within 10-6 following a hard fought 7-5 decision at 125.

The Norse (7-8, 4-4 A-R-C) had three ranked wrestlers take the mat down the stretch and rolled off six straight victories to close out the night en route to a win in what was the final dual between the two teams as conference foes.

Buena Vista concludes the regular season at 3-13 (0-8 A-R-C). Next up will be the NCAA DIII Lower Midwest Regional Tournament on Feb. 27-28 in Dubuque, Iowa.
