INDIANOLA, Iowa (Feb. 6, 2026) - The Buena Vista men's wrestling team traveled to Simpson College for an American Rivers Conference dual against the Storm on Friday night, but the Beavers remained winless in conference play this season after a tough 41-8 loss.
Simpson benefited from a pair of BVU forfeits as it built an early 18-0 advantage in the dual before freshman
Ben Bouaphakeo got the Beavers on the board at 149 pounds with a hard fought 8-3 decision. The was Bouaphakeo's 10th of the year and his second in an A-R-C dual. The Storm then won three straight matches, including a pair by decision, to extend the margin to 30-3.
At 184 pounds, senior
Trevor Kruse gave the Beavers bonus points by rolling to a 26-11 victory after being down 7-2 early in the first period. He improves his overall and team leading record to 12-6 on the year.
That was BVU's only other victory of the night as the Storm (6-6, 2-5 A-R-C)Â closed things out with back-to-back bonus point wins.
Buena Vista (3-12, 0-7 A-R-C) closes out the regular season next Friday, Feb. 13, against Luther College. The dual will be held in Manly, Iowa, at Central Springs High School.
