WHEATON, Ill. (Jan. 28, 2023) - Five Buena Vista University wrestlers took part in the annual Pete Willson Wheaton College Invite on Friday and Saturday.

Tyler Japp (125) and Michael De La Cruz (157) each picked up wins on Friday before both fell in their respective consolation second round bouts later that evening. The duo was the only individuals to capture victories for BVU on the day.

Buena Vista finished with 4.5 team points and placed 30th overall among the 32 teams competing.

North Central College (Ill.) won the team race with 136 points and edging UW-Eau Claire by 11 points.

The Beavers return to action on Feb. 3 when they host Simpson College in an American Rivers Conference dual inside of the Siebens Forum Grand Ballroom.  Action is set to begin at 7 p.m.
