EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Nov. 19, 2022) - The Buena Vista wrestling team had a trio of wrestlers advance into the championship matches of their respective weight classes and came away with a pair of individual champions during the 8-Man Battle, hosted by UW-Eau Claire on Saturday.

Brandon Foster won three decisions on the day, including a thrilling 6-5 victory in his championship match against UW-Eau Claire's Carter Schulz. Hernandez began his day with a third period fall before notching back-to-back decisions for the title. At 174 pounds, Garret Bruce came up just short of getting in on the championship mix, falling in the finals, 7-1.

As a team, Buena Vista totaled 75 points and came in third among the five teams. UW-Eau Claire claimed the team crown with 165.5 points.

The Beavers are off until hosting the annual BVU Open on Dec. 3.
