Grinnell led briefly at 3-2 in the opening set before freshman Jocelyn O'Neal sparked a key 5-0 run and never looked back. The team went on to score nine of the next 10 points to pull away and win 25-13.
It was all Beavers in the second set. They jumped out to an 11-1 lead and would go on to hold an opponent under 10 points for the fourth time this season by rolling to their 25-8 victory.
The Pioneers (3-5) led 12-9 in the third set before BVU took control yet again by scoring seven straight points and never trailed from there. Grinnell tried to keep within striking distance in the end at 20-19, but the Beavers got three straight kills from Meints to pull away late to win 25-20.
Buena Vista improves to 7-0 on the season and has yet to drop a single set in any match. The team travels to Morris, Minn., to take part in the Minnesota-Morris quadrangular on Friday, Sept. 18 and Saturday, Sept.19. The Beavers begin play against Concordia-Chicago on Friday at 5 p.m.
