WAVERLY,  Iowa (Sept. 13, 2026) - The Buena Vista women's golf team continues to play solid golf to begin the fall season, and on Sunday afternoon it wrapped up the 36-hole Wartburg College Invite with an 7th place finish after a final round 310.

BVU had three golfers turn in rounds in the 70's on the final day, led by freshman Peyton Hartman at 75. She dipped a couple spots on the final day to place 8th overall. Fellow freshman Hannah Swanson carded a 76 and moved up four spots into a tie for 19th. Ella Whited was three shots behind Swanson with a 79 while Riley Haschke turned in a final round 80.

The Beavers shaved 12 strokes off its opening round 322. Whited alone was 17 strokes better over her final 18 holes. The team ranked sixth among the field on the par-5 holes across both days and was one of two teams to have a player field one eagle for the tournament. Haschke carded the Eagle for the Beavers on the par-5 15th hole during Saturday's opening round.

A total of 15 teams made up the field as well as 91 total golfers. The Beavers were just five shots behind the host Knights for sixth. The University of Dubuque fired a final round 290 and jumped ahead of clubhouse leader Grinnell College to win the team race by five strokes.

BVU is back on the course next weekend to host the annual BVU Fall Invite on Saturday, Sept. 19 and Sunday, Sept. 20. The 36-hole event is played at the BVU Golf Course at Lake Creek.
