STORM LAKE, Iowa (Sept. 20, 2026) - Despite having to battle cloudy, wet, cooler conditions during Saturday's final round, the Buena Vista women's golf team managed to put those hurdles aside and still go out and battle through the round and claim the overall team title at the BVU Fall Invite by seven strokes over runner-up Simpson College.

The Beavers entered the round eight shots clear but the conditions as a whole had an affect on most team scores in the field over the final 18 holes. The Beavers, who turned in a 322 on Saturday, had all  four of the top scorers at or above 80 which led to a final round 340. That still managed to be the second lowest round on the day.

Freshman Hannah Swanson was the clubhouse leader entering the day but would slip one spot back and took runner-up honors following her final round 81. She tried to close things out strong with three birdies on the back nine, but would still come up two shots back of overall medalist, Lia Maxwell, of Coe College. Maxwell carded a final round 75 and was the low round of the day.

Sophomore Hannah Patrick fell three spots in the standings and tied for seventh overall after carding an  86. Freshman Peyton Hartman was ninth after a final round 85 while senior Riley Haschke finished with an 88 and tied for 10th.

The Beavers were runner-up at last year's Invite and improved their final score by six strokes.

Next up for the Beavers will be the Waldorf Fall Invite on Monday, Sept. 28 held in Lake Mills, Iowa, at Rice Lake Golf Course.
