Sievers Named First Team All-Conference; Brink and Jones are H.M.

STORM LAKE, Iowa (March 3, 2026) - The American Rivers Conference has announced its men's basketball all-conference team and Buena Vista junior Carter Sievers was voted as a First Team selection. Senior Jackson Jones and sophomore Jayden Brink were both selected as Honorable Mention players.

Sievers played in 14 of the 16 A-R-C games this season and ranked third in the league in scoring (17.9ppg), fourth in assists (3.3apg), fourth in assists-to-turnover ratio (1.8), fifth in free-throw percentage (.833) and eighth in three-point makes per game (1.9). He shot over 42.0 percent from the field and just under 40.0 percent from the three-point arc.

Among his top performances during A-R-C play this season include a 29-point performance at Wartburg College on Jan. 14 where he went 8-of-12 from the field, 4-of-5 from long range and 9-of-10 at the free-throw line. He also grabbed six rebounds and dished out four assists. Later in the season when BVU hosted the Knights, Sievers buried 5-of-7 attempts from long range and 5-of-5 from the stripe en route to 24 points. During the team's thrilling 65-62 home victory over Loras College to close out the regular season, Sievers became the 34th player in program history to surpass 1,000 career points.

This marks the first time Sievers has been named all-conference in his collegiate career after being named an honorable mention selection as a sophomore last season.

Jones and Brink are being recognized by the league coaches for the first time in their respective careers.

In 16 conference games, Jones averaged 9.5ppg and 3.8rpg and 1.4apg. He shot 48.0 percent from the field, made 23 three-point buckets and mad 13-of-18 at the free-throw line. During BVU's home game against Central College on Dec. 6, Jones made 3-of-5 long range attempts and scored 21 points and grabbed six rebounds. He matched a season-high with four made three-point treys during the team's double overtime road victory against the Dutch later in the season. In the first meeting of the year against A-R-C champion, Nebraska Wesleyan, he went out and scored 16 points and added six rebounds, and in his final career home game as BVU closed out the regular season, he chalked up 17 points and six boards in a 65-62 win over runner-up Loras.

Brink played in 15 games against A-R-C foes this season and was second on the team in scoring with 14.0ppg and reached double figures in 10 of the 15 contests. He shot 41 percent from the field, was second on the team with 30 made three-point buckets and while made 36 free-throws while shooting over 81 percent from the charity stripe. He came out strong at the start of league play with 16 points and three steals in the opener against Coe while following up three days later by scoring 27 points and dishing out five assists against Central. In the third game before the holiday break, he went on the road and scored 27 points, grabbed four rebounds and dished out a pair of assists. He combined to shoot 8-of-15 from behind the arc in the games against the Dutch and Storm. He finished conference play with four 20-point performances.

The three individuals helped lead Buena Vista back into the conference tournament after it had missed out in two of the last three years. The Beavers finished the year at 14-12 overall (7-9 A-R-C) and were the No. 5 seed in the A-R-C Tournament.
