DUBUQUE, Iowa (Feb. 24, 2026) - The Buena Vista men's basketball team had its season come to an end on Tuesday night in the quarterfinal round of the A-R-C Tournament with a 76-53 road loss at No. 4 seed Dubuque.

Adam Bryte was the only player for the Beavers to score in double figures and finished with 16 points and nine rebounds. Senior

Carter Sievers and sophomore
Jayden Brink all followed with eight points. Jones chipped in with six rebounds while freshman
Shane Bierle dished out three assists.
BVU was held to a season-low 26.9 percent shooting on the night and went only 6-of-32 (18.8 percent) from downtown. Bryte led the way with three long range makes while Jones added two. The duo combined to make 9-of-20 attempts from the field while the rest of the team combined to make only nine total field goals.
Dubuque led by as many as 10 points in the first half at 31-21 but the Beavers closed on an 8-0 surge that made it a 31-29 game at the half. The Spartans took control to begin the second half by scoring the first 10 points before Jones nailed a three-pointer to break the string. Dubuque, which shot over 56 percent from the field in the half, came right back with back-to-back makes from behind the arc to continue the hot shooting and never looked back.
Grady Thompson led all scorers with 19 points for the Spartans with Jacob Williams adding 17 points and seven boards. Dubuque held a slight edge on the glass, 45-40, but outscored BVU by 18 points in the paint. Dubuque will advance to play at No. 1 Nebraska Wesleyan in the semifinal round on Thursday, Feb. 26.
Buena Vista concludes its season at 14-12 overall. The loss also ends the careers of seniors:
