STORM LAKE, Iowa (June 24, 2025) - The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the Academic All-District Team for Track & Field / Cross Country on Tuesday with a total of three student-athletes from Buena Vista University being recognized.

To be eligible for recognition, a player must be in at least sophomore academic and athletic standing with one full year at the current institution while holding a cumulative overall GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Eligible nominees must be ranked in the top-50 regionally in any particular event (indoor or outdoor).

The following BVU individuals are represented in 2025:

• Courtney Johnson | Senior | Biomedical Sciences & Mathematics
• Payton Schermerhorn | Sophomore | Psychology & Social Work
• Abraham Christensen | Junior | Biology

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
