Storm Lake, Iowa (June 11, 2025) – Buena Vista University (BVU) is proud to announce a $10,000 grant from Clay County Pheasants Forever to fund the development of a new 3D Archery Range on university property. This transformational gift will allow the BVU Archery Program to expand its competitive offerings, host youth 3D camps, and offer new outdoor educational experiences to the community.
The new range will include 20 high-quality, life-like 3D animal targets set along a scenic and immersive outdoor course. It will serve as a practice space for collegiate student-athletes and a community resource for conservation education, youth training, and outdoor recreation.
“Clay County Pheasants Forever Chapter 42 is thrilled to help the BVU Archers as they expand their program with the addition of a 3D Archery Course,” said Paul Daniels, President of Clay County Pheasants Forever. “These archers have been very supportive over the past few years by helping annually at our Ladies Hunt and Banquet. Their program has archers from both Clay County and across the nation. They are providing area high school graduates another reason to consider staying local for their college education. Buena Vista County lost its PF Chapter not too long ago, and our Chapter is fortunate to have the capacity to help fill part of that void until one is established again.”
The 3D Archery Range exemplifies the shared missions of BVU Archery and Pheasants Forever by uniting sport, education, and conservation into a single community-centered project. For BVU Archery, it advances a core goal of developing student-athletes who compete at a high level and grow as leaders through discipline, resilience, and connection to the outdoors. For Pheasants Forever, it furthers their commitment to conservation advocacy, public education, and habitat awareness. Together, this range becomes more than a place to shoot; it becomes a living classroom where participants of all ages learn about wildlife, stewardship, and personal growth through archery.
