WATERLOO, Iowa (Apr. 6, 2025) - The Buena Vista men's golf team improved by 15 strokes over the final 18 holes of play on Sunday during the Upper Iowa Spring Invite at Sunnyside Golf & Country Club, and the Beavers moved up to finish 13th overall.
Gabe Kramer carded three birdies in his final round and posted a 78 overall to lead the Beavers with a 36th place individual finish.
Kaleb Sander turned in a team-best final round score of 76 which included a pair of birdies, as he climbed up 17 spots and came in 42nd overall.
Mason Laven matched Kramer with a 38 on the back nine and finished his round with a 79 overall and placed 72nd.
Payton Greenwood shot a 39 on the back nine but struggled a bit on the front nine with a 48 and was the team's final score at 87.
Reid Hany rounded out the team's line-up with a round of 88 and placed 92nd.
As a team, the Beavers turned in a round of 320 and moved up two spots to take 13th overall. The team was 18 shots behind the host Peacocks for 12th. William Jewell turned in the lowest final round at 295 and claimed the overall team title by eight shots over runner-up Bemidji State.
Next up for Buena Vista will be the Iowa Central CC Spring Invite for the JV team on Apr. 11-12 in Fort Dodge.
