Kramer Takes 12th to Lead Men's Golf at Graceland Invite

MARYVILLE, Mo. (March 29, 2026) - Buena Vista junior Gabe Kramer placed 12th overall to help lead the men's golf team to a seventh place finish at the 54-hole Graceland University Spring Invite that took place this past Friday and Saturday at Mozingo Golf Course.

Kramer began the two-day event on Friday with a round of 78 and was sitting in the top-5. He dipped slightly on Saturday after a final round 80. Senior Mason Laven had the low round for the Beavers to close out the event with a 78 which moved him up 13 spots after shooting an opening round 94.

Matthew Turpen and Kaleb Sander each scored rounds of 80 to begin the weekend with Turpen matching his score on the final day and Sander going one stroke higher at 83. The duo finished in 23rd and 27th place, respectively. Ashton Richey rounded out the line-up by placing 53rd overall after closing with an 89.

Reid Hany golfed as an individual and had a strong finish with an 80 and moved up 12 spots into 41st.

BVU sat in fourth place after totaling a 328 on Friday before going five strokes better to wrap up play on Saturday but would fall three spots overall and placed seventh. Simpson College had the biggest jump from seventh to fifth after going 19 strokes lower on the final day to finish with a 319.

Next up for Buena Vista will be the Iowa Central Spring Invite on April 10-11 at the Fort Dodge Country Club.
