INDIANOLA, Iowa (Oct. 1, 2025) - The Buena Vista men's golf team capped off its strong fall schedule on Wednesday at the Simpson College Fall Invite with a tie for fifth-place overall after a round of 304.
Three of the four scoring rounds for BVU were in the 70's led by a two-over 73 from
Kaleb Sander who was ninth overall. Right behind him was senior
Matthew Turpen, who followed up his record-breaking round on Sunday with a 74 and a 15th-place finish. Fellow senior
Mason Laven turned in a 77 with Reid Haney carding an 80.
Carson Krogulski, who golfed as an individual, chalked up a 73, which included a one-under 34 on the back nine holes. He would also go on to tie Sander for ninth.
BVU finished tied in the team race with DMACCÂ (B) and only two shots behind Iowa Central CC (B). Coe College captured the team title after a round of 281 while the host Storm came in runner-up at 294.
Coe's Tyler Santi and Sam Scully each carded rounds of 3-under 68 and tied for medalist honors ahead of the Storm's Blake Perrin, who was one stroke back with a 2-under 69.Â
