WAVERLY, Iowa (Apr. 5, 2025) - The Buena Vista women's outdoor track & field team continued its schedule over the weekend during the Wartburg College Select Meet held on Apr. 4-5 at Walston-Hoover Stadium.

Ava Mills had a strong showing in the heptathlon and placed eighth overall with 3,092 total points which ranks sixth in program history. Her best finish was a fifth-place effort in the shot put at 9.95 meters. Her 100-meter hurdles run during the heptathlon was also a new personal best.

Payton Schermerhorn came in fifth during the shot put with a heave of 12.42 meters with teammate Courtney Johnson in sixth at 12.08 meters.

Johnson had the team's highest individual finish by placing third in the javelin throw at 33.51 meters.

Buena Vista continues the outdoor slate next weekend as its scheduled to take part in the Sioux City Relays on Apr. 11-12 inside of Olsen Stadium in Sioux City, Iowa.
