Neubaum and Reed Tabbed Second Team All-Conference; Sievers Named Honorable Mention

STORM LAKE, Iowa (Mar. 5, 2025) - The American Rivers Conference announced today the 2024-25 Men's Basketball All-Conference Teams with Buena Vista graduate student Zane Neubaum and fifth-year senior Gunner Reed each voted as Second Team members. Sophomore Carter Sievers was voted as Honorable Mention.

Reed, who is a Second Team selection for the second straight year, finished off his career by ranking 14th during A-R-C play in scoring at 12.4ppg and was 10th in rebounding at 6.1rpg. He scored in double figures during 14 of the 16 conference games which included 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting at Simpson College on Feb. 19. He scored 19 points during both match-ups against Loras College. In the second league game of the year, Reed scored 12 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. That rebounding total tied for the sixth-most in a single game by any A-R-C player this season.

For the year, Reed started all 25 games and was second on the team in scoring at 13.9ppg, led the team in made field goals (151), rebounding (6.4rpg), tied for second in steals (24) and was second in assists (50). His final bucket of his 24-point performance against the Storm made him the 34th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points.

For Neubaum, he closes the book on his stellar career by becoming the program's first-ever five-time all-conference selection (4x Second Team selection). He was forced to miss the final seven games of his final campaign due to injury, but still managed to rank fifth in the league in scoring (17.7ppg), third in three-point percentage (.386) and three-point makes (2.2 per game), sixth in free-throw percentage (.804), seventh in blocked shots (0.7bpg) and 12th in steals (1.2spg). Despite missing nearly half of the conference schedule, he still ranked in the top-20 in total points scored (177) and was only 30 points away from the top-10.

Among his best games of the year was a 39-point performance on Jan. 15 against Simpson College where he made 14 made field goals, including a league-best eight made three-point buckets. His 39 points were the fourth-most in an A-R-C game this season. He scored at least 20 points in six conference outings and had seven games of making at least three from downtown. Despite being sidelined due to injury, the team put him in the starting line-up on Senior Day, where he was given the opportunity to make three baskets at the start of the game to move him into second-place on the program's all-time career scoring list with 1,833 points.

Sievers earned recognition for the first time in his career by landing Honorable Mention accolades. He finished his second season ranking 13th in scoring (12.4ppg), seventh in free-throw percentage (.800), 12th in assists (2.5apg) and averaged just under 30.0 minutes per contest.

For the year, the Newell-Fonda HS graduate, was third on the team in scoring (13.0ppg), fourth in rebounding (4.2rpg) and led the way with 65 assists. He was also second with 31 three-point makes. Among his top games was a 25-point effort against Loras College at home on Feb. 13 where he made 9-of-11 field goal attempts. He followed that up with 21 points and seven rebounds against Wartburg College in the home finale on Feb. 15.

The University of Dubuque's Jaylin McCants was voted the A-R-C Player of the Year, Nebraska Wesleyan University's Jack Groeteke the Defensive Player of the Year, the University of Dubuque's Jacob Williams the Rookie of the Year and the University of Dubuque's Robbie Sieverding the Coach of the Year.
