Beavers Land Four Basketball Players on CSC Academic All-District Team

STORM LAKE, Iowa (Mar. 25, 2025) - The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced on Tuesday its 2024-25 Academic All-District Basketball Team and Buena Vista University landed four student-athletes on the team.

On the women's side, senior McKenna Cone and junior Danika Demers were recognized with fifth-year senior Gunner Reed and graduate student Zane Neubaum named on the men's side. Neubaum also advances to the national ballot for voting on Academic All-American. That team will be announced on Apr. 15.

Student-athletes are nominated by their institution's Athletic Communications Director. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in both academic and athletic standing and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50 on a 4.0 scale. For basketball, the student-athlete must also appear in at least 90 percent of the team's games played for the year or have started at least 66 percent. A maximum of four individuals could be nominated for each gender.

Neubaum is now a 3x Academic All-District selection while Cone, Demers and Reed earn spots for the second straight season.

These four individuals were among 47 student-athletes recognized from across the A-R-C.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
