WAVERLY, Iowa (Nov. 15, 2025) - The Buena Vista women's cross country team concluded its 2025 campaign on Saturday afternoon at the 2025 NCAA DIII Midwest Regionals, hosted by Wartburg College. The Beavers finished 22nd overall as a team among the field consisting of 30 teams.
Junior
Megan Bakke, fresh off her all-conference finish two weeks ago, led the Beavers with a 54th place finish in a time of 23:47.9 which was nearly a minute off her record-breaking performance last time out and just over 30 seconds from a top-30 finish. Senior
Karley Ruiz-Genovese was next at 24:38.4 to close out her career with a new personal-best mark. Junior
Takara Conley and
Kenadie Thiner rounded out the team's line-up.
A total of 200 runners competed in the race which was won by Washington University (Mo.) sophomore Lucinda Laughlin in a time of 21:29.7. The second-ranked Bears (42pts) edged top-ranked University of Chicago (48pts) for the team title.
