STORM LAKE, Iowa (Oct. 10, 2025) - The Buena Vista football team (1-3, 0-2 A-R-C) returns home on Saturday and looking to get back into the win column to host winless Luther College (0-5, 0-3 A-R-C) on Family Weekend.

INSIDE THE SERIES:
Buena Vista has won the last five meetings against the Norse, including a 40-13 triumph in Decorah, Iowa, last season…During the five-game streak, the Beavers have scored at least 32 points in four of those games while holding Luther to under 20 points in three of them…The two teams met on the gridiron for the first time back in 1928 and have played every year since 1950…Saturday is the 79th all-time meeting.
LAST TIME OUT:
Buena Vista: The Beavers played their first road conference game of the year last Saturday at Coe College. BVU took the early 3-0 first quarter lead only to have the Kohawks respond back with 17-unanswered points and lead 17-10 at the half. The Beavers generated just under 300 yards of offense in the game but was held scoreless in the second half as the Kohawks added a pair of fourth quarter scores to pull away for a 37-10 victory. Senior tailback Meven Obregon chalked up a season-high 103 yards on the ground while junior quarterback Zy Gravitt completed 21-of-44 attempts for 183 yards and one touchdown. Hunter Emgarten hauled in the lone touchdown grab and tied for the team-lead with Johnny Messerly in total catches with five. The defense struggled in slowing down the Coe running game and surrendered 335 yards on the ground and one score.
Luther: The Norse hosted #8-ranked Wartburg College in their Homecoming game last weekend but remained winless on the year after a 36-3 setback. Defensively, Luther came out and held the Knights to only one first-half touchdown while forcing them into a pair of made field goals. Wartburg did tack on a safety and led 15-3 at the half. Wartburg pulled away in the second half with a pair of touchdown runs and one score through the air. Wartburg did have a season-high 430 yards of total offense in the game but the Norse were held to a season-low 126.
