DUBUQUE, Iowa (Apr. 15, 2024) - The Buena Vista University men's golf team had its best showing of the spring on Sunday and Monday, as it finished eighth overall as a team with a 36-hole score of 629 at the Loras College Duhawks Invitational played out at The Meadows.

Kaleb Sander helped lead the way overall with an 11th-place finish. He came out strong with an opening round 73 before slipping slightly over the final 18 holes with a 79. Cooper Sebastian was just behind in a tie for 15th after charging up the board following a final round 73.

Mason Laven had his two best rounds of the spring at 81-80 and tied for 39th. Justin Hanks started strong with a 78 on Saturday before carding an 89 on Sunday to tie for 52nd. Payton Greenwood rounded out the line-up with multiple rounds of 84 and tied for 54th.

The University of Dubuque's Carter Ruegsegger took individual medalist honors by five strokes after rounds of 71 and 70.

Buena Vista returns to the course on Apr. 20-21 at the Luther College Spring Invite. The 36-hole event will be played at Oneota Country Club.
