DUBUQUE, Iowa (Nov. 21, 2024) - The Buena Vista University men's wrestling team went on the road to begin the American Rivers Conference schedule on Thursday night, but the Beavers were handed a tough 51-0 loss by sixth-ranked Loras College.
The Duhawks, picked third in the A-R-C Preseson Coaches Poll, scored bonus points in all 10 matches on the night. The dual began with major decisions in two of the first three matches, with a technical fall sandwiched in between, that put Loras in front 13-0 early on. The Duhawks had four individually-ranked wrestlers in the line-up, including three that are ranked in the top-5, and they never looked back.
Buena Vista is 1-2 overall this season (0-1 A-R-C) and travels to UW-Eau Claire on Saturday, Nov. 23, for the 8-Man Battles.
