WAVERLY, Iowa (Oct. 5, 2024) - Sophomore
Megan Bakke gave the Buena Vista University women's cross country team an eighth place individual finish on Saturday at the Dan Huston Invite, hosted by Wartburg College.
The 6k race held at Max Championship Cross Country Course, included 80 total runners from seven teams. Bakke ran her personal best time of 23:34.8 and was over two minutes faster than her time two weeks ago. Junior
Karley Ruiz-Genovese came in 28th at 25:10 and was only six seconds off her career-best mark. Sophomore
Takara Conley completed her first collegiate 6k race and crossed in 26:36.3 to take 47th. Freshman
Amber Aljets rounded out the line-up for the team at 30:05.
Buena Vista did not qualify for the overall team finish.
The Beavers now prepare for the Platte River Rumble on Friday, Oct. 18, in Ashland, Neb. Â
