STORM LAKE, Iowa (Aug. 16, 2023) - The American Rivers Conference announced its 2023 Preseason Women's Soccer Coaches Poll which has Buena Vista picked to finish ninth.

Defending league champion, Loras College, is the unanimous pick by the coaches to be crowned as champions in 2023. Wartburg College earned the final first-place vote and is third with 52 points, just behind Simpson College in third with 54.

The Beavers are coming off a 4-12-1 campaign from a season ago that included an 0-8 clip against A-R-C foes. The team is expected to return seven starters for first-year head coach Mauricio Lozada and 13 individuals overall. Among that group is sophomore Madyline Taylor, who played all 17 matches and led the team in 2022 with seven goals and two assists. 

BVU is set to begin its 2023 schedule on Friday, September 1, at home against Bethany Lutheran College. It will open conference play on Saturday, September 23, at Loras College.
