DES MOINES, Iowa (April 29, 2023) - The Buena Vista men's outdoor track & field team had its sprint medley relay team place seventh at this year's Drake Relays on Friday evening while the rest of the team had members taking part in the Grand View Classic.
The sprint medley relay team of
Ashton Bates, John Jeannise,
Jadon Micke and
Kyle Miller turned in a time of 3:27.74 which landed them seventh overall while also posting the second-fastest mark in program history.
Bates was on the track as well at Grand View and captured the title in the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.12 while Jeannise came in fifth (11.18).
Haydn Piskorski was runner-up in the 5000-meter run in 17:13.75 while
Jon Flaws added to the distance honors by also taking second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 9:59.26.
Bates and Micke joined both
Isaiah Thomas and Easton Hayes to take fourth in the 4x100m relay.
Buena Vista is scheduled to compete next at the USD Tuneup on Friday, May 5, at Vermillion, S.D.
