PELLA, Iowa (May 2, 2026) - The Buena Vista men's outdoor track & field team wrapped up the 2026 A-R-C Outdoor Championships on Saturday afternoon inside of Ron and Joyce Schipper Stadium with six points and a ninth place overall finish.

BVU got its points in the field events with sixth place finishes from both Nick Walch in the pole vault at 4.05 meters and the 4x100 meter relay that crossed in a season best time of 42.74 seconds.

Freshman Patrick Heffernan ran a personal best time of 4:02.81 in the 1500-meter run that missed out on scoring points by just five seconds as he came in 11th.

On Friday evening, senior Easton Hays was edged out of the finals of the 100-meter dash by only 0.10 seconds and took 11th in the prelims.

Wartburg College claimed the overall team championship in decisive fashion by scoring 208 points. Loras College was runner-up with 141 points.

The championships wrap up the season for the majority of the athletes. A select few may take part in one or both the of the two scheduled Last Chance qualifying meets.
