STORM LAKE, Iowa (Nov. 21, 2023) - The Buena Vista men's wrestling team was back at home on Tuesday night to host Minnesota West Community & Technical College for a non-conference dual that took place inside of the Lamberti Rec Center. BVU would score bonus points in seven of its eight victories to roll past the Bluejays, 42-9.

BVU came out strong with five technical falls and a forfeit to grab a commanding 21-0 lead. Michael de La Cruz and Mason Noel each followed with falls to make it 33-0 while Max Mashek's technical fall at 174 pounds made it 38-0.

The Bluejays won by forfeit at 184 pounds to get on the board before picking up a decision at 197 for their final victory. Freshman Colton O'Hern put the finishing touches on the dual by notching a strong 16-7 major decision to make it 42-9.

Buena Vista improves to 1-2 overall this season and returns to the mat on Dec. 2 when it hosts the BVU Open.
