IOWA CITY, Iowa (May 1, 2021) - The Buena Vista University men's golf team concluded its season on Saturday during the final round of the 2021 A-R-C Men's Golf Championships held at Finkbine Golf Course. The Beavers finished seventh overall as a team while senior
Ryan Ruzek earned all-conference accolades with his ninth place individual finish.
Ruzek carded his third straight round of 78 to move up one spot from the third round and finish two strokes ahead of 10th. Fellow senior
Anthony Gallagher closed out his collegiate career with a 79 to mark his lowest score of the weekend and finish 30th. Senior
Evan Krause was two spots ahead of Gallagher in 28th while
Joey Ashley and
Shane Hess wrapped up the line-up.
The all-conference finish was the first for Ruzek, who finished 11th in 2019 before last year's championships were canceled due to COVID-19. It's also the first all-conference finisher for the Beavers since 2012.
Nebraska Wesleyan won the team title by 35 shots over runner-up Loras. The Duhawks' Jacob Pieser (290) was the individual medalist by three shots over NWU's Alex Kubik (293).
