STORM LAKE, Iowa (March 13, 2021) - The Buena Vista baseball team played its first home games in nearly two years on Saturday afternoon, and the team made the most of it by sweeping a non-conference doubleheader against Hamline University by scores of 7-5 and 10-5.

Nick Henrichs doubled home a run and Beekman added a sacrifice fly in the fifth for a 5-3 lead with BVU adding on two more in the sixth for a four-run cushion. The Pipers tried to rally late with two runs in the seventh, but
Austin Scott came in and worked a scoreless final two frames to pick up his first save.
Henrichs was 2-for-4 in the contest with an RBI and a run scored. Jordan Mathweson came off the bench and added two hits of his own and scored a run. Beekman finished with the two RBI.

The Beavers used a big four-run third inning and added a pair of insurance runs in the eighth to complete the sweep. The Pipers pused one run across in the first inning before
Jordan Mathewson hit the team' second long ball of the day leading off the home half and tie things up at 1-1.Â
Ryley McGregor picked up an RBI in the second to put BVU for good. A pair of infield hits capped the four-run inning as the Beavers built a 6-1 lead. Tennyson picked up an RBI in the fourth and another in the eighth.
