DUBUQUE, Iowa (February 13, 2021) – The Buena Vista Beavers Wrestling team finishes up the regular dual meet season fighting hard, with two hard losses on the road against Coe College 47-4 and University of Dubuque 41-3.

Taking the long trip over to Dubuque Iowa, the Beavers' senior Don Phillips II picked up the sole win for the Beavers against the Kohawks by major decision 13-3. Don used his explosive speed and unwavering determination to consistently take down his opponent and control the pace of the match up.

After Coe came Dubuque, where the Beavers started out strong with junior Byron Fleming winning by decision 6-5 with his wrestling experience and management of the clock placing himself exactly where he needed to be to pick up the win. Unfortunately for the Beavers, Dubuque went on to win every match after that, including a tough loss with Philips II losing in overtime 8-6.

Coe now stands at 5-1 overall (5-1 conference) as they would go on to also defeat Dubuque 25-12. This places Dubuque at 4-4 overall (4-4 conference).  The Beavers are now 2-6 (2-6 conference) as they finish out the regular season dual meets.
