STORM LAKE, Iowa (December 2, 2021) - The Buena Vista University Dance Team is set to take part in the Iowa State Dance Team Championships and will perform its routines on Friday inside of Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

The Beavers will take the floor for their pom routine at 9:30 a.m. on Friday and will be going up against conference foes Simpson, Central, Coe and Wartburg.  BVU came in third at least year's event with 251 points as Simpson claimed the championship with 256.  The depth of preparation heading into this year has the Beavers striving to get to that top spot.

"I am very proud of the deep level of preparation the dancers and coach Tori (Stille) have put into their routine," says BVU Director of Cheer & Dance, Kezia Molinsky.  "It is quick-paced with lots of formation changes and packed with technical skills.  Since performing this routine two weeks ago at the Alta-Aurelia Dance pre-state showcase, they have taken the judges feedback and fine-tuning the corrections.  I'm excited to see this team perform at Wells Fargo in the nation's largest dance competition."
