STORM LAKE, Iowa (January 22, 2021) - The Buena Vista wrestling team is scheduled to begin its adjusted 2020-21 schedule by traveling to Nebraska Wesleyan this Saturday, January 23, to take on both the Prairie Wolves and Simpson College in an A-R-C Triangular.

Mark Rial take to the mat to open their adjusted season in what will be a new-look schedule for the year. The team will wrestle a pair of American Rivers Conference duals over the course of a four-week period to prepare itself for the annual Lower Midwest Regional Tournament that is slated for Feb. 27 at Dubuque, Iowa. The NCAA Championships are scheduled for Mar. 12 in La Crosse, Wis. Â
Overall, the team is made up of seven upperclassmen and is coupled with a deep group of 10 newcomers. Senior
Don Phillips II is among the top returners coming into the year following his junior campaign that saw him finish seventh at the Regional Championships all while chalking up 21 total wins.
Byron Fleming also tallied 21 victories a year ago and was 4-4 in conference duals.
Floyd Miller notched 16 wins as a freshman in 2019-20 and was tied for third on the team with six falls.
A LOOK AT SIMPSON AND NEB. WESLEYAN
The Storm went 3-12 (1-7 A-R-C) last season and return one All-Region placewinner in junior Dylan McChesney who took sixth at 125lbs. The Prairie Wolves went 2-6 in league duals last season and are picked seventh in this year's preseason coaches poll. They return 2019 All-American Eron Haynes (133) who also placed sixth at last year's regional tournament. Â
