STORM LAKE, Iowa (January 9, 2020) - The Buena VIsta wrestling team will be back out on the mat for the first time following the New Year when the team hosts Saint John's University (Minn.) in a non-conference dual Friday afternoon inside of Siebens Fieldhouse. This is a make-up dual from earlier this season and will begin at 4 p.m.

About Saint John's
The Johnnies are back in action following a 47-3 loss to third-ranked Augsburg College last Saturday, January 4, in Minneapolis. The Auggies recorded seven bonus-point wins, including four pins and a pair of technical falls. Noah Becker (133lbs) has been tough to beat this season and comes into Friday with a pair of upset victories under his belt. Against the Auggies, he knocked off top-ranked Victor Gliva, 6-3, after having topped then top-ranked Levi Engleman, 4-2, a week earlier at the Citrus Duals on December 30. Becker is 7-1 on the year and climbs to No. 4 in the D3wrestle.com national rankings. Jacob Scherber (174lbs) comes in witha team-high 14 wins.
About Buena Vista
The Beavers are back in action for the first time since going 2-1 at the Prairie Wolf Duals, hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan, back on December 14. The Beavers picked up wins against both MSOE and Fontbonne University before falling to Concordia College (Minn.).
Collin Stilson has a team-high 15 wins this season followed by
Byron Fleming (12) and
Floyd Miller (11). Two of the team's three losses this season have come against top-10 ranked teams (#1 Loras, #9 Coe).
Last Meeting
The Beavers picked up a 31-13 victory last season on November 16 up in Collegeville, Minn. Becker and Stilson faced-off in that dual at 141 pounds with Becker coming away with a narrow 4-2 decision.
Up Next
Both teams will travel down to Pella, Iowa, on Saturday to take part in the Central College Under Armour Invite. Action is set to begin at 9 a.m.
