The Buena Vista men's tennis team hosted nationally-ranked Coe College on Wednesday afternoon, but came up on the short-end of an 8-1 loss.
The number one doubles tandem of Chris Habermann and Jess Brace continue with their strong play all season by picking up a thrilling, hard-fought 9-7 win. It marks the first points scored in a match against the Kohawks for BVU since 2011-12.
Brace nearly gave BVU a second win, but after taking the first set of his number two singles match, fell 6-3, 6-3, in the last two.
Buena Vista is now 2-17 overall (1-4 IIAC) and will now get set to wrap up the conference portion of its schedule this Saturday with road matches at Central (9:00am) and Simpson (2:00pm).
