Box Score The Buena Vista men's soccer team was back in action on Tuesday evening as it stepped outside of Iowa Conference play to travel to St. Mary's (Minn.), but it was the Cardinals scoring one goal in each half en route to a 2-0 victory.
The Cardinals took a 1-0 lead during the 37' and held that same advantage until extedning the margin to 2-0 late in the 52'.
Both teams took five shots in the opening half, while St. Mary's held a slim 7-6 advantage in the second. The two combined for only seven shots-on-goal.
Juan Rosales turned in a team-high three shots, while three others added two each.
Matt Tennyson got the start in-goal for the Beavers and played well, allowing just the two goals and posting two saves.
The loss dips BVU to 4-7-1 on the year, and the team will now return home on Saturday, October 11, for an Iowa Conference match-up against Luther College starting at 5:30pm.
