WAVERLY, Iowa (Sept. 27, 2026) - The Buena Vista men's golf team finished in a tie for seventh place overall with strong round of 296 on Saturday before weather forced the cancelation of Sunday's final round at Prairie Links Golf and Country Club.
BVU finished only one shot behind Loras, Wartburg and Coe, who all tied for fourth. Kirkwood Community College ran away with the team title after a 17-under round of 271 on the 6,658-yard, par 72 course.
Freshman
Chase Belka was the low finisher for the Beavers and tied for eighth overall with a round of 1-under 71. He tied with four other golfers and trailed the individual medalist by six strokes.
Junior
Tommy Dredla was only one shot behind Belka after an even-par round of 72 with senior
Gabe Kramer (76), freshman
Hunter Eckley (77) and freshman
Brady Nichols (79) rounding out the scores for BVU. Individually, the Beavers had a pair of top-20 finishers, as seniors
Justin Hanks (73) and Nathan Hillman (75) took 20th and 35th, respectively.
A total of 79 golfers and 14 different teams made up the field. This marks the fifth round under 300 for the Beavers so far this fall season.
Buena Vista is back out on the course on Monday, Sept. 28, by sending it's other team of golfers to compete at the Waldorf University Invite held in Lake Mills, Iowa.
