STORM LAKE, Iowa (Sept. 19, 2026) - For several of the Buena Vista men's golfers, it was the first time competing on the home course as the team began the BVU Fall Invite on Saturday. BVU is in third after a 292 and only one shot back of both Coe College and Iowa Lakes CC.

Freshman Chase Belka had himself a stellar round of 1-under 71 and chalked up five birdies overall. Fellow freshman Brady Nichols is right on his heels after carding an even-par round of 72 which included an eagle on the  par-5 16th. The dynamic duo reached the clubhouse in third and fourth place overall. Junior Tommy Dredla is tied for 12th (75) with senior Gabe Kramer tied for 27th after a 78.

It was another strong day for the Beaver ‘B’ team as it fired a 304. Leading the way was freshman Hunter Eckley with a two-over 74 and is tied for sixth. Freshman Christian Vander Broeck fired a career-low 77 and carded a pair of birdies while Reid Hany and Justin Hanks turned in rounds of 78 and 79.

BVU is leading the way among all teams in scoring average on the par 4's through the first 18 holes and is second with 10 birdies. 

Sunday's final round is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
