Box Score PELLA, Iowa (Apr. 22, 2026) - The Buena Vista men's tennis team was back on the courts Wednesday afternoon for an American Rivers Conference match at Central College. The Beavers battled throughout the match, but it wouldn't be quite enough as the Dutch went on to win 7-0.

All three doubles matches came down to the wire, including a narrow 7-5 victory by Central at No. 3 over Jeb Bathrick and Owen Stansberry. The other two matches were both 6-3 margin. Central swept through singles play in straight sets and allowed more than three points in only three different sets.

"We came out of the gate really strong tonight and battled in doubles, but not sure if we had a letdown going into singles as we definitely didn't play our best singles of the year tonight," said BVU head coach Brett Groen. "Nick and Bryson had two really strong showings and battled deep into their matches, but weren't able to to put away a few of the shots to change the help and get the score back on track."

The Beavers fall to 5-11 overall (1-6 A-R-C) and now returns home to begin a three-match home stand starting on Saturday, Apr. 25, when the Beavers wrap up league play by hosting Coe College at 1 p.m. The team will then host a pair of non-conference matches early next week to end the year.
