STUNT Team Eager for 2026 Season to Kick-Off

2/6/2026 9:15:00 AM

STORM LAKE, Iowa (Feb. 6, 2026) - The Buena Vista University STUNT team is set to officially begin its 2026 competition this weekend on the road in Illinois, and the Beavers are more than eager to get the program's fourth season as an official sport on campus underway.

STUNT has been the fastest emerging female sport of all-time, and just last month, it was voted at the annual NCAA Convention to make the sport an NCAA Championship sport with the first-ever championship event set for the spring of 2027. BVU head coach Kezia Molinsky has also been selected to serve a four-year term on that championship committee.

BVU, ranked #7 in DIII preseason rankings, remains the only college or university in the state of Iowa to sponsor STUNT. The team's roster continues to grow in experience and overall talent each year.

The Beavers are coming off a 3-10 record in 2025 which concluded with a strong 11-0 victory against Randolph College out in Dallas, Penn. A total of 19 members are expected to make up the roster as the season gets underway with a solid mix of veteran returners and a talented group of newcomers.

There are three seniors on this year's team that were on the inaugural roster for the program when it began competition four years ago: Dayana Bueso, Kambree Hultquist and Cassidy Weide. Those three will be looked upon to lead this year's team as it aims to win the most matches during a season in program history and also make a run into the College STUNT Nationals which will be held this year in Nashville, Tenn.

Bueso was named a First Team All-American for the second time in her career following last season with sophomores Hannah Barker and Hazel Keith earning Second Team and Honorable Mention honors, respectively.

The team begins on Friday afternoon against #7 Maryville University at 4 p.m. and takes on St. Norbert College at 5 p.m. St. Nortbert is in its inaugural season as a program.

After being on the road for the first two weekends, the Beavers will play host to St. Norbert College in a doubleheader on Saturday, Mar. 21 starting at 11 a.m. St. Norbert becomes the first collegiate STUNT program in the state of Wisconsin.

Following the home games will be the Mid America Central Conference Tournament on Saturday, Mar. 28-29 in Olivet, Mich.
