QUINCY, Ill. (Feb. 6, 2026) - The Buena Vista STUNT team began its season on Friday night with a pair of games at the Quincy University Kickoff Tournament, and the Beavers, ranked #7 in Division III, came away with a split on the evening. The team dropped its first game against DII #7 Maryville University, 13-0, before bouncing back with a strong 10-0 triumph over St. Norbert College.

BVU trailed only 1-0 after the first quarter during the opener with Maryville but then the Saints scored two points in each of the next two quarters before chalking up six in the fourth quarter.

With the season-opening jitters behind them, the Beavers responded in a big way against the Green Knights by taking two points in each of the first three quarters followed by a big four-point final quarter to complete the shutout.

"The team dealt with nerves prior to our first game against a ranked Divsion II Maryville team, but then locked in after halftime and improved upon their skills," said BVU head coach Kezia Molinsky. "I'm super happy with our outcome against St. Norbert. We have identified many places we need to improve and look forward to more conference games next weekend."

BVU jumps right back into action on Saturday as it completes the two-day tournament with games against a pair of ranked opponents. It begins the day facing NAIA #2 Central Methodist University at 10 a.m. before wrapping up against the host Saints, who are ranked #22 in DII, at 11 a.m.
