STORM LAKE, Iowa (March 28, 2026) - The Buena Vista STUNT team began its first-ever conference tournament on Saturday with a thrilling 12-8 win over No. 3 seed and host University of Olivet before suffering a tough 14-0 loss against top-seed Saint Mary's (Ind.).

Olivet scored the only point of the first quarter before BVU came back and scored the only two of the second to lead 2-1 at the half.

The Beavers used a strong third quarter to extend their lead to 7-3 and both teams finished with five total points in the team routines during the fourth quarter to hold on for the 12-8 win. It marks the team's second victory over Olivet this season.

The win advanced the team on to face top-seed Saint Mary's (Ind.), and it was a tight game in the early going. St. Mary's led just 1-0 after the first quarter and only 4-0 at the half. BVU held tough but just couldn't generate a point throughout, and St. Mary's would go on to break things open with the team routines in the fourth with eight total points.

Buena Vista is now 5-6 overall this season and will turn around and go up against Olivet again on Sunday, March 29, at 9:30 p.m.
